It can be hard to decide what activities to partake in during the winter months, especially this year. However, even with the snow and cold weather that we have been receiving in the GTA as of late, there are plenty of fun things to do to occupy your time. That's why we've compiled some ideas for fun and safe winter activities to enjoy in and around Toronto (although most of them you can enjoy anywhere). Enjoy the activities winter has to offer, even in a social distancing setting.
All of the snow that we have been getting makes for the perfect conditions to take to the hills and enjoy a day of tobogganing at your local park. Make sure to bundle up in layers and bring water as this can be quite a fun workout.
Go ice skating on a local outdoor rink or safe pond. There are plenty of outdoor rinks scattered across Toronto including the notable outdoor rink at Nathan Phillips Square. Lace-up your skates and enjoy a relaxing ride.
Visit Bloor-Yorkville Icefest this month and explore an outdoor self-guided ice sculpture tour. You will find amazing works of art and have numerous opportunities for some very cool photos. Details on this year's Icefest have yet to be released, but make sure to check the link for upcoming updates: https://www.bloor-yorkville.com/icefest/
Create your own snow art! We've got a considerable amount of snowfall at this point in the winter. Exercise your creativity and take a shot at making your own snow art. You can never be too old to enjoy sculpting your own snow creation.
We are lucky to have parks with various trails available for us to explore. Take a day to enjoy a long walk and the winter scenery.
